About the meeting
The 2023 Fall Meeting took place at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, Italy. This meeting marked the 10th fall research meeting held since the WIC’s inception in 2010 and was hosted in collaboration with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and the Management Healthcare Laboratory. The meeting featured an international forum of academic researchers, policy makers, clinicians, and health care change agents interested in the causes and consequences of unwarranted variations in health care utilization and outcomes and how these variations may be reduced. Abstracts
This year’s themes are:
- Warranted and unwarranted variation in the COVID-19 pandemic
- Health care atlases – future prospects
- Novel data and data linkage methods for health care evaluation
- Economic analysis of unwarranted variation examining prices, spending and costs (including travel times)
- Systemic causes and remedies to unwarranted variation
- General category for innovative research in population-based health care measurement of variation
